Lisa Ranran Hu is an award-winning filmmaker from Beijing who acquired her MFA in Film Production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. She holds a BA in Psychology with a minor in Theater from UCLA.

Lisa starts making films at the age of 14, and her body of work spans a wide range - from romance dramas to science fiction, and from narrative films to music videos. Across these varied forms and genres, her storytelling remains grounded in themes of human connections and love.

Her 75-minute film Escape, which centers on a transgender teenager, was featured in TIME magazine. The film's impact contributed to her being named to Forbes' "30 Under 30 Asia" list, and she was honored with the MTV EMA "Generation Change Award."
